Neural coding in high-dimensional, non-linear systems

In this workshop we address the emergence of efficient, robust, and generalizable neural codes, to inform the engineering of next generation artificial neural architectures. In particular, we focus on fluctuations in the dimensionality of spontaneous and evoked dynamics through non-linear interactions underlying synchrony and resonance that may allow biological systems to perform new types of computations arising from the self-organization of such highly nonlinear systems We aim to bring together researchers with expertise in neuroscience, mathematics, physics, and engineering to discuss current ideas toward the development of novel, bio-inspired computing architectures.
