SFT-PARIS-2019 : Lectures on Statistical and Condensed Matter Field Theory

16-27 sept. 2019
Institut Henri Poincare, 11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, 75005 PARIS - PARIS (France)

The aim of the school is to bring together PhD students and yound reserchers with interests in low-dimensional quantum field theory and their applications to statistical mechanics and condensed matter systems, and to help them building a solid and specialized background on these subjects. The school provides sets of postgraduate lectures covering introductory topics as well as recent developments in the field. Lectures will be scheduled four hours each morning, for a total amount of about forty hours, over two weeks. Presentations will be given on the blackboard. The afternoon will be devoted to exercises, study, and discussions with lecturers and senior participants. Research facilities will be provided to all participants. This school is organized in partnership with the "SFT-2019-Lectures on Statistical Field Theories" school of the Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physcis in Firenze (Italy). Lecturers: — Andrei BERNEVIG (Princeton Univ.): "Topological Matter". — Tomaz PROSEN (Lujbjana Univ.) : "Many-body quantum chaos and random matrix theory". — Adam NAHUM (Oxford Univ.) : "Entanglement and information spreading". — Gregory SCHEHR (LPTMS, Orsay Univ.) : "Growth processes and integrability". — Jean-Marie STEPHAN (Univ. Lyon 1) : "Extreme boundary conditions and random tilings".
