This congress is proposed and organized by a research group working on didactics for 15 years. This collective brings together researchers from several laboratories (CREAD UBO-Rennes 2; LISEC Nancy; LINE Nice; CREN Nantes; UER MS- HEP VD Lausanne; ACTÉ Clermont-Ferrand). The aim of the congress is to work on a deepening of the Joint Action Theory in Didactics (JATD), but also on its opening. It is intended for all those who work in the Joint Action Theory in Didactics, as well as to all those who use certain epistemological, theoretical, methodological ideas or notions used in this theory, or close enough. Even more widely, all communications that are likely to advance this theory, both within educational sciences, but also more generally, by extending the links that this didactic theory can maintain with other sciences of culture, are welcome. This first congress on the Joint Action Theory in Didactics aims to contribute to the development of the research program of this theory. To do so, the congress will put the JATD in questions, and will also attempt to ask fruitful questions to the didactic approach as a whole, whether it is, for example, a matter of disciplinary didactics, of didactics or theoretical frameworks developed in didactics. Papers may tackle, but are not limited to, the following topics: - the epistemology of research, particularly the epistemology of cultural sciences; - the theoretical notions of the JATD, in their filiation, their study, their future; - methods, including for example those related to study films; - ethical issues; - the general question of the sensitive and, for example, the links between the emotional and the epistemic; - political issues; - joint action between professionals and researchers, for the understanding and the improvement of practices (cooperative engineerings, etc.) - the articulation between the generic and specific dimensions of the knowledge at stake; - the role and consideration of contexts in analyses; - etc. The communications will be held in English, or in French. Format of submissions Proposals for papers will best fit within the framework defined above. They will not exceed 3000 characters, including spaces, not counting references. They must be submitted by the authors on the conference website by Monday 5 November, 2018, at the latest. The evaluations will be returned to the authors by Monday 14 January 2019 at the latest. The full text of the paper (in English or in French) should be put online by the authors on the conference website by Monday 11 March, at the latest. The length of this text will be between 20,000 and 30,000 characters, including spaces (10 pages). Tuesday 18th June 2019 Wednesday 19th June Thursday 20th June 2019 Morning Plenary 1, then communications Plenary 2, then communications Responses to the questions to the JATD Afternoon Questions to the JATD Cooperation between researchers and professionals (cooperative engineerings, etc.) Plenary 3, then communications The table above refers to three types of organisation. 1) Three half-days will be devoted to short plenary sessions, followed by communications (1st, 3rd and 6th half days). The plenaries will be given by several speakers, and will integrate a system of online digital reactions and a discussion by a reactant. Format of plenaries: 30 min presentation, 5 min reaction, 10 min discussion Format of communications: 30 min presentation, 10 min discussion. 2) A specific organisation will spread over the 2nd and the 5th half-days. On the 2nd half-day, guest researchers, who do not work in the JATD field but who know it well, will ask questions to this theory. These questions will be worked on during the 5th half-day. They will have been discussed between the 2nd and the 5th half-days, including an online forum, open to all participants. 3) The 4th half-day will be devoted to the study of the relationship between JATD and the professionals, in the broadest sense of the term. The general problem of the cooperation between researchers and these professionals will thus constitute the core of the investigations. Epistemological, theoretical, methodological, ethical, and other questions policy can be addressed in this way. This 1st JATD Congress will also include an essential mechanism, which will consist in organising the continuity of successive JATD congresses. This system will bring together a small team whose work will will consist in taking note of the issues that will be raised, and of the debates to which they will have initiated. These questions and debates will feed the development of the research programme of the JATD, and will contribute to the conceptual organisation of the next congress. In this perspective, the second JATD congress (2021) could be organised in Nancy, France, the third JATD congress (2023) in Toulon, France. The congress will result in the publication of a book, gathering the texts of the plenary sessions, and a selection of papers.
