3-14 juin 2013
Station Biologique de Roscoff Place Georges Teissier 29680 Roscoff France - Roscoff (France)
Knowledge on marine genomics is crucial for the understanding of the marine environment and for an efficient use of its resources. The course will consist of lectures, tutorials and computer based exercices. It will give insight into aspects of marine phylogenetics, phylogeography and population genetics as well as comparative, environmental and functional genomics. The present use and potentials of marine genomics in industry and research and development will also be presented. Targets are PhD students (at least in their second year) and post docs with a solid knowledge in phylogenetics and/or population genetics. Students with an applied background (e.g. aquaculture, blue biotech, fisheries, nutrigenomics) are encouraged to apply.
