The ABIS Doctoral Summer School is an outstanding opportunity for PhD and DBA students to set the agenda for transdisciplinary research initiatives, explore reseach methodologies appropriate to the field of business in society, benefit from the advice and feedback of senior researchers, and network with peers from around Europe and beyond. In this trandisciplinary context the 2014 ABIS DSS ambitions to play a part in fostering progress in research on sustanaibility-oriented innovation and entrepreneurship. Building on the success of previous DSS 2014 event will follow a similar format of mentoring, networking, presentations and plenaries. In addition there will be roundtable events on getting published, gettting a foot on the academic careeer ladder, meet the editors, access to a special issues and other publication opportunities. Possible events include a book launch for publication on business ethics, film preview, and opportunitiy to meet social entrepreneurs. This year's DSS will focus on the antecedents and drivers of social innovation in the context of (for-profit) business organisations. From a business perspective, "the raison d'être" of social innovation is to create shared value for participating stakeholders.
